Super moms, why do we try to do everything and do nothing for ourselves

Super moms try to do everything.  I find with each and every phone I get, it’s from a  super mom and or a busy professional who believed she had to do everything herself. The thought process is always, if I don’t do it, it won’t get done right or well. We are powerful women who are very resilient but when it boils down to it, there is just no way we can do it all without crashing and burning. When that happens, what good are we?  Hopefully this doesn’t happen to you but if it does, you will be out of commission and you will not be able to do anything or help other family members in need.

Time is money:

For the most part, the majority of my clients range in age.  The one thing that stands out the most is the mom has finally come to the conclusion that it is now time to divert some of her burdens to professionals.  First of all, time is money and you just don’t have all the time in the world to do everything yourself.  Everything on the to do list is just as important as the next.

What is on that list that is important to you and the family but can be designated to someone else. This will give you your time back. Some of my clients have large families. Your day can be filled with work, sports events and concerts that are usually on the daily calendar. Why not make the decision to have someone come in to cook. Even though you may love to cook for your family time just doesn’t allow that to happen anymore. For practical purposes, people can choose to have the food prepared just as mom would have. You can use your own recipes or have the family try new and interesting entrees

Your time is valuable:

Finally, why do super moms do try to do everything. Why is it that you feel the need to do so? Most of all, we don’t need to prove anything to anyone.  As a result, our health, stamina and clear minds are the most important things to our family. Seems like the super moms need to take a step back and figure out what it is costing me in the long run. In addition, your time is valuable and have someone come in and clean your home once every two weeks. Have someone come in and be your dog walker. Hire someone to prepare meals for the family. You can really be a super mom to your family but not at the cost of doing everything yourself.
